When my wife first applied for a UK visit visa, we thought it would be straightforward. She had a job. A mortgage. A life in Morocco she was clearly coming back to. We treated it like a Schengen application — and we paid for that assumption with our first rejection.
The Home Office wanted to know where large deposits in her account had come from. We hadn't explained them. To us they were obvious. To a caseworker reviewing hundreds of applications, they were a red flag.
